This book is free everywhere from Jan. 1-3, and 99 cents for the rest of January! Happy New Year! I love when my publisher does this–gives away the first book in a series. Obviously, the hope is that readers will be hooked and end up buying the rest of the series, right? But regardless, who can’t use a free book? And this series, WINNIE THE HORSE GENTLER, has been a bestseller, with around a million copies in print. I get more wonderful fan letters from these readers than all the rest combined.
Just so you won’t think I’m bragging, here’s one of my favorite fan mails: Dear Dandi Daley Mackall, I love your books! You are my favorite author! I’ve read the Winnie series over and over, and I want to read all your books again and again. And besides, since my guinea pig died, I have nothing else to do.
